ANSR-137/138 : ASCEND-43/44 Spring 2022 Flight : 2 April 2022
The Launch Day prediction for the ANSR-137/Ascend-43 balloon flight with a 130% fill is for a flight of 31 km (19 miles) on a bearing of 067º, landing at 32° 57.343'N, 112° 0.876'W, or 10 km (6 miles) NNW of Stanfield, AZ and NORTHWEST of the Nissan Technical Center. Burst should occur after 75 minutes with a total flight time of 111 minutes. The assumptions for this prediction are a 3000 gram balloon, payload mass of 8.07 kg (17.53 lbs), neck lift of 10.43 kg (23 lbs), an ascent rate of 6.52 m/sec (1283 fpm), a burst altitude of 30,000 meters (98,400 feet), descent rate at landing of 6.49m/sec (1277 fpm) and using Habhub.com. Quantity of helium required for the specified lift: 13.68 m^3 (473.43 ft^3). Google Earth KML and JPG files are attached.
The launch of ANSR-137 is scheduled for today, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 9:00 AM MST (1600 UT), from the I-8 Freeman Road Exit (Exit 140) (32° 50.99'N, 112° 19.15'W). The actual launch site will be determined as we get closer to launch day.
