Arizona Near Space Research Promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education through Amateur Radio and High-Altitude Ballooning |
Arizona Near Space Research (ANSR), a 501(c)(3) organization, promotes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through Amateur Radio and High-Altitude Balloons (ARHAB) and has supported Arizona NASA Space Grant ASCEND! programs since 2001. ANSR has conducted more than 100 high-altitude balloon flights, one of which reached an altitude of 117,127 feet. Many carry student payload projects. More exciting flights which YOU can participate in are currently being planned. A successful ARHAB group uses a variety of skills. These include: APRS (packet), DF, GPS, TV receivers, transmitters and multiple antenna types, electronic and mechanical design and fabrication, digital design and programming, Mesh Network, weather and flight path prediction, and many other STEM related activities. It shall be a challenge for and to utilize the ingenuity of this organization to provide the necessary resources towards realizing these goals in the form of:
