8 April 2024 Arizona National Eclipse Ballooning Project Total Solar Eclipse Flight

ANSR joined ASU, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the University of Arizona, and other Space Grant partner schools in support of the National Eclipse Ballooning Project to successfully launch two high altitude balloons from Spofford, TX. The purpose was to film the shadow on the eclipse as well as recording weather and environmental data during the flight. ANSR also flew two experimental radiosonde modules that were converted to transmit APRS as balloon trackers. Check out the pictures below!
